We don’t have TV and rarely have time to watch it. For Sisterwives we typically wait until the new season is on Amazon or video and then watch it. As a result we have yet to see anything of the new season. We are looking to change that and hope to have more appropriate and timely reactions to the show.
From what I understand however, ratings for this season are up 30% over prior year season opener. That is good news for the Browns. We obviously like the Browns. They are so different than we are for sure, but we appreciate their openness and how genuine they are.
Today there was an article in the Salt Lake Tribune originally from the Las Vegas Review-Journal on the family and the bigotry they experience even still. All one has to do is read the comments at the bottom of the article to see the bigotry and hate that spews forth. Overall the Browns’ report that they have received a lot of acceptance in Las Vegas though. Much more than they experienced in Utah. It makes me wonder how much of that is because they are so much more public now and how much of it is the culture in Las Vegas as they attribute?
While we experience our share of negativity, overall we have found most people in Utah to be very kind and supportive since we have become public. Is it because attitudes are changing or is it because our filter of them have changed? Either way we have grown so much from the experience and are glad we have stood up to proclaim who we are. I applaud the Browns in their efforts and hope this world continues to transform into a more loving and accepting one.
